Acute myeloid leukemia (AML) is characterized by a block of myeloid differentiation. We identified the lysine demethylase LSD1 and the acetyltransferase GCN5 as factors blocking ATRA-induced differentiation in AML cells. The goal of our studies is to elucidate the underlying mechanisms using proven and experimental technologies, such as UV laser ChIP-seq, paving the way for clinical application of LSD1 and GCN5 inhibitors.
