Ongoing stigmatization processes: the help system

Topic and question

With the help of a survey of the professional help system, research is to be conducted into the extent to which those affected by SED injustice in outpatient and inpatient care make use of treatment services in order to determine the general need within the care system. Among other things, the focus will be on possible barriers and reservations that can make it difficult to receive treatment, so that care can be provided in line with needs. In addition, it is also to be recorded how well treatment providers feel informed about the topic and prepared for a possible treatment, so that adapted further training possibilities can be derived. Based on these findings, a stigma-sensitive module on "GDR injustice in care" is to be developed for curricular training, among other things.

Methodic procedure

1. Quantitative online survey of the help system in the new federal states with telephone follow-up; target group: psychiatrists and physicians in clinical and outpatient settings
2. Development of a stigma-sensitive module
3. Summary and publication of the results
