- Since 2019 – Full Professorship (W3) in General Practice and Director of the Institute of General Practice at Jena University Hospital / Friedrich Schiller University Jena
- 2016 – Habilitation on “Significance, feasibility, and challenges of clinical drug trials in primary care, exemplified by uncomplicated urinary tract infection”
- 2006–2019 – Research and Medical Associate at the Institute of General Practice, Hannover Medical School (MH Hannover)
- 1993–1998 – Specialist training in General Practice (Board Certification in General Practice)
