Dr. rer. nat. Ann-Sophie Maegdefrau holds a doctorate in biochemistry and has been working at the Institute of General Practice at the Jena University Hospital (UKJ) since February 2024. Her research interests to date have focused on infection and immunobiology. Currently, Ann-Sophie Maegdefrau is primarily working on the POCT-ambulant project, which addresses the assessment of clinical need and patient benefit of point-of-care tests (POCTs) in outpatient care.

Ann-Sophie Maegdefrau studied biochemistry/molecular biology at the Friedrich Schiller University Jena (Bachelor/Master). Subsequently, she worked as a research associate at the Chair of Biochemistry at the Friedrich Schiller University Jena (2015-2020). Following this, she worked as a shift supervisor at SYNLAB Jena Oncoscreen® in Sars-Cov-2 diagnostics (2020-2021). In 2023, Ann-Sophie Maegdefrau completed her doctorate in the field of molecular biology.
