Lecture highlights the clinical use of bacteriophages in cardiac, thoracic and vascular surgery

Jena • With his lecture on »Bacteriophage therapy for critical infections in cardiac, thoracic and vascular surgery« Prof. Christian Kühn, Hannover Medical School, opened the IKARUS seminar series in its second funding year

Prof. Kühn presented the latest research and his clinical experience in the use of personalised phage therapy for antibiotic-resistant infections.

The following discussion, which was almost as long as the presentation itself, was also paraticularly exciting, vividly underscoring the seminar-like character of the lectures in our Research Group. Specific application questions, regulatory hurdles, and interdisciplinary perspectives were intensely discussed
