In the BD FACS Aria-II at the Institute of Immunology 2 air-conditioned lasers (blue: 488 nm, red: 633 nm) are installed. Thus, it is possible to measure up to 7 fluorescent parameters plus Forward- and Side Scatter. Accordingly, all these parameters can be used as sort criteria to separate up to 4 different cell populations into 5 mL round bottom tubes with up to 25,000 cells / sec (70 µm nozzle) or up to 7,000 cells / sec (100 µM nozzle). If desired, a sort into 96-well plates or into 15 mL tubes can be performed as well.
