The Institute for Medical Statistics, Computer and Data Sciences (IMSID) of university hospital Jena consists of the groups:

    • "Computational Neuroscience", Bernstein group for "Computational Neuroscience" (Dr. L. Leistritz) 
    • clinical epidemiology in cooperation with "Center for Sepsis Control and Care" (CSCC)
    •  "Smart Medical Information Technology for Healthcare" (SMITH) - BMBF joint project within the Medizininformatik-Initiative   - cooperation with Geschäftsbereich IT Dr. Danny Ammon       
  • medical statistics and epidemiology (Univ.-Prof. Dr. P. Schlattmann) 
    
    •  the group is in cooperation with Zentrums für Klinische Studien Jena (ZKS)
  • medical computer sciences (Uni.-Prof. Dr. C. Spreckelsen)
    • research and project work to promote data quality, data integration, decision support, resource and process optimization in medical information processing
    • the working group supports the SMITH project with regard to the futher development of medical IT training, futher education and training formats
