Cetramed building
Jena University Hospital receives research centre for translational medicine - CETRAMED
A new research building is to be built at the University Hospital Jena (UKJ), where scientists will dedicate themselves to the research of age-related diseases. The aim of the Center for Translational Medicine - CeTraMed - is to elucidate the mechanisms of age-associated diseases using biophotonic methods in order to develop new forms of diagnosis and therapy. Half of the construction costs of 28 million euros will be borne by the UKJ itself; the Science Council has recommended federal funding for the other half. The planned building with 3800 square metres of floor space could be completed in 2022 and could then be the workplace of 14 research groups.
The ThIMEDOP Innovation Centre with its equipment infrastructure forms the core of this centre.
