Sascha David is a medical specialist for internal medicine at the MHH / Division of Nephrology. After a research stay at the Harvard Medical School from 2009-2011 he established his own research group in Hannover. His group is investigating molecular mechanisms regulating endothelial barrier function in response to inflammation with special focus on the Angiopoietin (Angpt)/Tie2 ligand receptor system. He has won several prizes for his research activities, including the Hugo-Schottmueller Award of the German Sepsis Society.
