Jena • The interdisciplinary endocarditis board has successfully begun its work at Jena University Hospital in a new, independent structure. Previously integrated into the Cardio Board, it was established as a separate board due to high demand, numerous patient cases and increasing specialist requirements – with the aim of making care even more professional and focused. It combines the expertise of various disciplines to optimise diagnostic and treatment decisions for (suspected) infectious endocarditis early and based on evidence.
